Act 280 of 1939

400.31 Residence of spouse living separate and apart.

Sec. 31.

For the purposes of this act, the residence of 1 spouse shall not be considered the residence of the other spouse if they are living separate and apart, and in that case each may have a separate residence dependent upon proof of the fact and not upon legal presumption. A person shall not be, because thereof, precluded from acquiring or retaining a legal residence or settlement.
