172.440. The leading objects of said colleges shall be toteach such branches as are related to agriculture and mechanicarts and mining, including military tactics, and withoutexcluding other scientific and classical studies, in order topromote the liberal and practical education of the industrialclasses in the several pursuits and professions of life.
