Compensation shall only be made once.

524.250. No occupying claimant shall recover compensationtwice for his improvements; and in all cases where the occupyingclaimant shall be paid for his improvements by any person otherthan the proprietor of the better title, such person shall beinvested with the same rights, and have the same remedy for therecovery thereof, as is given by this chapter to such occupyingclaimant.
