If it shall appear to the commissioners, or amajority of them, that such assignment of dower, if any, andpartition of the premises cannot be made without great prejudiceto the owners, they shall make report of such facts to the court,in writing; or if the judgment of the court can be executed onlyas to a part of such premises, they shall make division of suchpart, and report the same to the court, together with the residuewhich, in their opinion, is not susceptible of division.
