Failure to pay agreed damages--double damages.

537.290. If any railroad neglect, fail or refuse to pay theowner or his authorized agent the damage or damages agreed upon,as provided in section 537.280, then the railroad shall be liableto the owner in double the amount of damage or damages agreedupon, to be recovered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
