Examination of prisoner and his witnesses.

544.380. After the examination of the complainant and thewitnesses on the part of the prosecution, the witnesses for theaccused may be sworn and examined, and the prisoner may, at hisrequest, be sworn and examined as a witness in his behalf, underthe restrictions applicable to the examination of defendants inthe trial of criminal cases.
