Vacancy--governor to fill.

30.070. When a vacancy occurs in the office of statetreasurer, the governor shall immediately appoint a statetreasurer to fill such vacancy for the residue of the term inwhich the vacancy occurred, and until his successor is elected orappointed, commissioned and qualified.
