660.690. Protection against spousal impoverishment and premature placement in institutional care, determination of eligibility for Medicaid and medical assistance benefits.

660.690. In order to protect the community spouse of an individualliving in a residential care facility or assisted living facility, as definedin section 198.006, RSMo, from impoverishment and to prevent prematureplacement in a more expensive, more restrictive environment, the division offamily services shall comply with the provisions of subsection 6 of section208.010, RSMo, when determining the eligibility for benefits pursuant tosection 208.030, RSMo.
