City clerk--duties.

77.410. The city clerk shall, among other duties, keep thejournal of the proceedings of the council. He shall safely andproperly keep all records and papers belonging to the city whichmay be entrusted to his care, and generally shall perform allthe duties required of him by ordinance or orders of thecouncil. He is hereby empowered to administer official oaths,and also oaths to persons certifying to demands or claimsagainst the city.
