Funds may be invested.

87.430. Said board of trustees shall have power to draw suchfunds as are credited to the pension fund under the provisions ofsections 87.380 to 87.490 from the treasury of such city, and mayinvest the same, or any part thereof, in the name of the board oftrustees of the firemen's pension fund, in interest-bearing bondsof the United States or the state of Missouri, or of any county,township or municipal corporation of the state, or loan the sameon real estate in the city where such pension funds areestablished, not exceeding in amount in any case two-thirds ofsuch real estate. All such securities shall be deposited withthe treasurer of such city, as ex officio treasurer of suchboard.
