60-3,125. Purple Heartplates; fee.(1) Any person may, in addition tothe application required by section 60-385, apply to the department for licenseplates designed by the department to indicate that the applicant has receivedfrom the federal government an award of a Purple Heart. The inscription ofthe plates shall be designed so as to include a facsimile of the award andbeneath any numerical designation upon the plates pursuant to section 60-370the words Purple Heart separately on one line and the words Combat Woundedon the line below.(2) The license plates shall be issued upon payment of theregular license fee and an additional fee of five dollars and furnishing proofsatisfactory to the department that the applicant was awarded the Purple Heart.The additional fee shall be remitted to the State Treasurer for credit tothe Nebraska Veteran Cemetery System Operation Fund.Any number of motor vehicles, trailers, semitrailers, or cabin trailers ownedby the applicant may be so licensed at any one time. Motor vehicles and trailersregistered under section 60-3,198 shall not be so licensed.(3) If license plates issued pursuant to this section arelost, stolen, or mutilated, the recipient of the plates shall be issued replacementlicense plates upon request and without charge.
