The State Board of Education shall from time to time adopt such rulesand regulations with regard to the qualifications of persons employed by localboards of education as chief mechanic or supervisor of transportation as itshall deem necessary or desirable for the purpose of assuring the propermaintenance and safety of school buses. A local board of education shall notemploy any person as chief mechanic or supervisor of transportation if thatperson does not meet the qualifications established by the State Board.
