§53‑232.4.  Application of this Chapter.

(a)        Internationalbanking corporations, other than federal international bank institutions, aresubject to Articles 1 through 14 and Articles 17 and 18 of this Chapter, exceptwhere it appears, from the context or otherwise, that a provision is clearlyapplicable only to banks or trust companies organized under the laws of thisState or the United States.  An international banking corporation has nogreater right under, or by virtue of, this Article than is granted to banksorganized under the laws of this State.

(b)        Nothing in thisArticle is construed as granting any authority, directly or indirectly, for adomestic bank or domestic bank holding company, the operations of which areconducted principally outside this State, to operate a branch in this State orto acquire, directly or indirectly, any voting shares of, or interest in, orall or substantially all of the assets of a bank in this State. (1991,c. 679, s. 1.)
