§ 90‑9.3.  Requirementsfor licensure as a physician assistant.

(a)        To be eligible forlicensure as a physician assistant, an applicant shall submit proofsatisfactory to the Board that the applicant:

(1)        Has successfullycompleted an educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistantsaccredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or bythe Committee's predecessor or successor entities;

(2)        Holds or previouslyheld a certificate issued by the National Commission on Certification ofPhysician Assistants; and

(3)        Is of good moralcharacter.

(b)        Before initiatingpractice of medical acts, tasks, or functions as a physician assistant, thephysician assistant shall provide the Board the name, address, and telephonenumber of the physician who will supervise the physician assistant in therelevant medical setting.

(c)        The Board may, byrule, require an applicant to comply with other requirements or submitadditional information the Board deems appropriate. The Board may set fees forphysician assistants pursuant to rules adopted by the Board. (2007‑346, s. 9.)
