Section 45-8A-112.02

Exemptions.

The provisions of this part shall apply to all officers and employees in the service of the city or any board, agency, or instrumentality of the city except: (a) elective officers; (b) members of appointive boards, commissions, and committees; (c) all employees of the city board of education engaged in the profession of teaching or in supervising teaching in the public schools; (d) attorneys, physicians, surgeons, nurses, and dentists employed in their professional capacities and employees under the direct or indirect supervision of the Oxford Hospital Board; (e) the judge of any court; (f) independent contractors receiving their remuneration from public funds under contracts awarded by competitive bidding; (g) any person whose employment is subject to the approval of the United States government or any agency of the United States government; (h) all employees of the water and sewer board; and (i) the mayor's secretary.
