Statutes > Alaska > Title-40 > Chapter-40-21 > Article-01 > Sec-40-21-110Except for public records lawfully in the possession of a person other than the state, public records of existing or defunct agencies of the state, territorial, and Russian governments in Alaska are the property of the state and shall be created, maintained, preserved, stored, transferred, destroyed or disposed of, and otherwise managed in accordance with the provisions of this chapter and AS 45.48.500 - 45.48.530. Records shall be delivered by outgoing officials and employees to their successors, and may not be removed, destroyed, or disposed of, except as provided in this chapter and AS 45.48.500 - 45.48.530.
