SECTION 11675-11679



11675.  There is established a Committee on Executive Salaries which
shall consist of the following: (1) the Governor's Appointment
Secretary, (2) two Members of the Senate appointed by the Senate
Rules Committee, (3) two Members of the Assembly appointed by the
Speaker thereof, (4) the Chairman of the Commission on California
State Government Organization and Economy, (5) a member of the
Commission on California State Government Organization and Economy
appointed by the chairman of the commission, (6) a member of the
State Personnel Board, and (7) the Director of the Department of
Finance.



11676.  The members of the committee shall be appointed for a period
of one year.



11677.  Staff assistance to the committee shall be supplied jointly
by the Department of Finance, the Legislative Analyst, and the State
Personnel Board.


11678.  The committee shall investigate and study all pertinent data
regarding salary changes of state personnel and similar executive
positions in private and other government organizations. The
committee will assist the Governor and the Legislature in maintaining
equitable salary relations internally among the various executives.
It shall report at least once every two years to the Legislature
starting in January, 1971 and recommend statutory changes where
appropriate.


11679.  The Members of the Legislature appointed to the committee
shall meet with and participate in the work of the committee to the
extent that such participation is not incompatible with their
positions as Members of the Legislature. For the purposes of this
article, such Members of the Legislature shall constitute a joint
investigating committee on the subject of this article, and shall
have the powers and duties imposed on such committees by the Joint
Rules of the Senate and Assembly.
