SECTION 70100-70104



70100.  This article applies in each county with a population of
700,000 and under 750,000, as determined by the 1950 federal census.
The provisions of Article 11 of this chapter which apply in counties
with a population of 750,000 or over apply in each county with a
population of 700,000 and under 750,000 except as is otherwise
validly provided in this article or in Section 70058.



70101.  If a majority of the judges of the superior court of any
county with a population of 700,000 and under 750,000 concur in an
order that appointments may be made pursuant to this article, they
may each appoint a competent phonographic reporter, specifying that
the appointment is pursuant to Article 12, Chapter 5, Title 8, of
this code.



70104.  In such event in cases in which a phonographic reporter is
requested and the fees provided for by Article 11 for counties with a
population of 700,000 and under 750,000 have not been paid, the
parties litigant shall pay to the clerk of the court, prior to the
hearing of the cases, the phonographic reporters' fees prescribed by
Article 9. Such fees shall be deposited by the clerk in the county
treasury to the credit of the salary fund of the county.
