      Sec. 12-149. Lists of taxpayers to be preserved until settlement with collector. Each such treasurer shall preserve all lists delivered to him under the provisions of section 12-147 until the next annual audit and settlement of his accounts with his municipality and then deliver such lists to the selectmen if a town not consolidated with a city or borough, to the common council or board of aldermen if a city, to the warden and burgesses if a borough or to the governing board if any other municipality, who shall keep them until the accounts of the collector delivering the same are finally settled with such municipality.
