      Sec. 16-28. Correction of returns and reports. When a report filed by a public service company under subsection (a) of section 16-27 or an annual report filed by a community antenna television company under subsection (b) of said section seems to the Department of Public Utility Control defective or erroneous, the department may notify the company making the same and require the amendment of such report within fifteen days from the time of giving such notice, under the same penalty as is provided for refusing or neglecting to make such report; and the department may examine the officers, agents, employees, books, records, accounts, vouchers, plant and equipment of such company and may correct such items in such report as, upon such examination, the department may find ought to be corrected.
