      Sec. 38a-1018. Penalties. After notice and opportunity for a hearing, the commissioner may impose a monetary penalty on any person or group found to be in violation of any provision of subsection (e) of section 31-288 or section 31-289b, 31-316, 31-345 or 38a-1000 to 38a-1023, inclusive, or of any rules or regulations adopted pursuant to said provisions. Such monetary penalty shall not exceed one thousand dollars for each act or violation and shall not exceed an aggregate of ten thousand dollars. The amount of any monetary penalty shall be paid to the commissioner for deposit in the General Fund.
