      Sec. 53a-321. Abuse in the first degree: Class C felony. (a) A person is guilty of abuse in the first degree when such person intentionally commits abuse of an elderly, blind, disabled or mentally retarded person and causes serious physical injury to such elderly, blind, disabled or mentally retarded person.

      (b) Abuse in the first degree is a class C felony.
