26.38 Judge to state reason for nonattendance.

Whenever any judge as aforesaid shall make default as aforesaid in consequence of sickness or providential interposition, it shall be the duty of such judge to state the reasons of such failure, in writing, over his or her official signature, to be handed to the clerk of the court, who shall enter the same at length on the records of the court.
