586.14 Compensation for beekeeping equipment and honeybees contained therein destroyed due to infection with American foulbrood, Bacillus larvae.

Upon destruction of honeybees or honeybee equipment infected with American foulbrood, Bacillus larvae, Florida resident owners of honeybees and beekeeping equipment may receive compensation from the department. This compensation shall be up to 50 percent of the appraised value of the destroyed property, providing funds are available for this purpose; however, compensation shall not exceed $30 per colony.
