[§6E-14]  Preservation activities bypolitical subdivisions.  The political subdivisions of this State mayengage in a comprehensive program of historic preservation, to promote the useand conservation of historic properties for the education, pleasure, andenrichment of the citizens of this State.  The governing body of any politicalsubdivision may establish an historic preservation commission to preserve,promote, and develop the historical resources of the political subdivision.
