§15-8  Absentee ballot box.  An absenteeballot box or boxes shall be provided in the absentee polling place for thepurpose of depositing the return envelopes and the ballot envelopes of thosewho vote in person at the absentee polling place.  The ballot box shall besecured in accordance with rules promulgated by the chief election officer.

Tampering with the ballot box or opening itbefore the time prescribed in section 15-9 shall be an election offense undersection 19-6. [L 1975, c 36, pt of §3; am L 1976, c 106, §4(3); am L 1980, c248, §1(e)]
