§16-45 - Official observers.
§16-45 Official observers. Officialobservers shall be designated by the chief election officer or the clerk incounty elections to be present at the counting centers and selected in thefollowing manner:
(1) No less than one official observer designated byeach political party;
(2) No less than one official observer from the newsmedia;
(3) Additional official observers as space andfacilities permit designated by the chief election officer in state electionsand the clerk in county elections.
The chief election officer or clerk shall giveall official observers reasonable notice of the time and place where theballots shall be counted. No person shall be permitted in the counting centerwithout the written authorization of the chief election officer or clerk. [L1975, c 36, §5(9)]
