[§42F-101]  Definitions.  As usedin this [chapter], unless the context clearly requires otherwise:

"Grant" means an award of state fundsby the legislature, by an appropriation to a specified recipient, to supportthe activities of the recipient and permit the community to benefit from thoseactivities.

"Recipient" means any organization orperson receiving a grant or subsidy.

"Subsidy" means an award of statefunds by the legislature, by an appropriation to a recipient specified in theappropriation, to reduce the costs incurred by the organization or individualin providing a service available to some or all members of the public. [L 1997,c 190, pt of §3]
