Condominium specialist; appointment; duties.  There are established two permanent condominium specialist positions
within the department of commerce and consumer affairs to assist consumers with
information, advice, and referral on any matter relating to this chapter or
otherwise concerning condominium property regimes.  There is also established a
permanent secretarial position to provide assistance in carrying out these
duties. The condominium specialists and secretary shall be appointed by the director
of commerce and consumer affairs without regard to chapter 76.  The condominium
specialists and secretary shall be members of the employees' retirement system
of the State and shall be eligible to receive the benefits of any state or
federal employee benefit program generally applicable to officers and employees
