§47-10  CUSIP numbers.  Unless thegoverning body shall otherwise direct, the director of finance of the county inthe director's discretion, may provide that CUSIP identification numbers shallbe imprinted on bonds issued under the authority of this chapter.  In the eventthe numbers are imprinted on any bonds:

(1)  No number shall constitute a part of the contractevidenced by the particular bond upon which it is imprinted; and

(2)  No liability shall attach to the county or anyofficer or agent thereof, including any fiscal agent, paying agent, orregistrar for the bonds, by reason of the numbers or any use made thereof,including any use thereof made by the county, any officer or any agent, or byreason of any inaccuracy, error or omission with respect thereto or in anyuse.  Unless the governing body shall otherwise direct, the director offinance, in the director's discretion, may require that all cost of obtainingand imprinting the numbers shall be paid by the purchasers of the bonds.  Forthe purposes of this section, the term "CUSIP identification numbers"means the numbering system adopted by the Committee for Uniform SecurityIdentification Procedures formed by the Securities Industry Association.
