§53-56 Workable program, definition. "Workable program" means a program (including an official plan ofaction, as it exists from time to time for effectively dealing with the problemof urban slums and other blighted, deteriorated, or deteriorating areas withinthe community and for the establishment and preservation of a well-plannedcommunity with well-organized residential neighborhoods of decent homes andsuitable living environment for adequate family life) for utilizing appropriateprivate and public resources to eliminate, and prevent the development orspread of, slums and other urban blight and deterioration, to encourage neededurban rehabilitation, to provide for the redevelopment of slum or otherblighted, or deteriorated, or deteriorating areas or to undertake such of theseactivities or other feasible activities as may be suitably employed to achievethe objectives of the program.
