§88-161  Dismissal after twenty years'service; pensions.  Any member of the police force, fire department or bandwho is dismissed therefrom for any cause other than for being convicted of afelony, after the member shall have been in actual service for twenty years ormore, shall receive from the pension system a monthly payment equal to fortyper cent of the average monthly compensation for the ten years of serviceimmediately preceding the member's dismissal.
