§88-272  Credited service.  Creditedservice includes:

(1)  Service by an employee rendered since becoming amember;

(2)  Service credited under part II as a class A orclass B member for members who make the election described in section88-271(a);

(3)  Service for members who return to service in themanner described in section 88-271(b);

(4)  Service in the armed forces as provided bysubpart E of part II; provided that the service shall be credited at no costupon certification by the system;

(5)  Mandatory maternity leave as provided in part II;provided that such service shall be credited at no cost upon certification bythe system;

(6)  Service rendered prior to becoming a class Cmember as described in section 88-51 that is not included in paragraphs (1) to(5); provided that the service shall be credited at no cost.  Uponcertification by the system, that service shall be credited at the rate of onemonth of service credit for each month of service rendered following the returnto membership; and

(7)  Unused sick leave as provided in section 88-63;provided that any additional service credit shall not be used in determiningeligibility for retirement or for any other purpose as a class C member. [L1984, c 108, pt of §8; am L 1990, c 104, §4 and c 141, §3]
