[§90D-2 Commission for national and community service; establishment.]  There is established within the University ofHawaii, for administrative purposes only, the [commission for national andcommunity service] to:

(1)  Encouragecommunity service and volunteer participation as a means of community and stateproblem-solving;

(2)  Promote andsupport voluntary citizen involvement in government and private programsthroughout the State;

(3)  Develop along-term, comprehensive vision and plan for action for community serviceinitiatives in Hawaii; and

(4)  Serve as theState’s liaison to national and state organizations that support its mission.

Theestablishment of this commission replaces the commission created by ExecutiveOrder 94-01. [L 2002, c 88, pt of §1]
