[§124A-16]  Reports and receiving ofprisoners.  (a)  No provost marshal, commander of a guard, master at arms,warden, keeper, or officer of a state correctional facility designated undersection 124A-15, may refuse to receive or keep any prisoner committed to hischarge, when the committing person furnishes a statement, signed by him, of theoffense charged against the prisoner.

(b)  Every commander of a guard, master atarms, warden, keeper, or officer of a state correctional facility designatedunder section 124A-15, to whose charge a prisoner is committed shall, withintwenty-four hours after that commitment or as soon as he is relieved fromguard, report to the commanding officer of the prisoner the name of theprisoner, the offense charged against him, and the name of the person whoordered or authorized the commitment.
