[§124A-99]  Review counsel.  (a)  Uponthe final review of a sentence of a general court-martial or of a sentence to abad-conduct discharge, the accused has the right to be represented by counselbefore the reviewing authority, before the staff judge advocate or legalofficer, as the case may be, and before the state judge advocate.

(b)  Upon the request of an accused entitled tobe so represented, the state judge advocate shall appoint a lawyer who is amember of the state military forces and who has the qualifications prescribedin section 124A-46, if available, to represent the accused before the reviewingauthority, before the staff judge advocate or legal officer, as the case maybe, and before the state judge advocate, in the review of cases specified insubsection (a) of this section.

(c)  If provided by the accused, an accusedentitled to be so represented may be represented by civilian counsel before thereviewing authority, before the staff judge advocate or legal officer, as thecase may be, and before the state judge advocate. [L 1982, c 171, pt of §2; gench 1985]
