§142-5  Landing of animals.  The landingof any animal for the purpose of inspection or quarantine shall not beconstrued to be an entry into the State for any purpose whatsoever, except asherein provided, and if in the opinion of the department of agriculture itshall be necessary or proper to quarantine any animal, it may do so at theexpense of the owner or consignee.

The landing of any domestic animal known to beaffected with any contagious, infectious, or communicable disease shallconstitute an unlawful entry; provided that with the permission of thedepartment, the animals may be landed for quarantine or destruction anddisposal at the expense of the owner or consignee.
