ยง146-21ย Retention of the hide of butchered
calf, heifer, cow, steer, and bull; subject to public inspection.ย Every
person slaughtering a calf, heifer, cow, steer, and bull butchered for purposes
of human consumption shall, for a period of two weeks after the killing of a
calf, heifer, cow, steer, and bull, retain the hide of the same and allow any
interested person, in the usual business hours during that period, to inspect
the same; provided that disposition may be made of a hide within the period
aforesaid upon receipt from the officer in charge of recording brands of
written permission so to do; provided further that the retention of hides shall
not be required if the purpose of the slaughter is for personal consumption.ย
For the purpose of this section, "personal consumption" means for
