[§159-53]  Construction.  The licensesrequired by this chapter shall be in addition to any other licenses required bylaw.

The requirements of this chapter shall apply topersons, establishments, animals, and meat or meat products regulated under theFederal Meat Inspection Act only to the extent provided for in section 408 ofthe Federal Meat Inspection Act.

The operation and effect of this chapterconferring a general power shall not be impaired or qualified by the grantingof a specific power or powers.  Each provision of this chapter is intended tobe construed liberally in light of the declaration set forth in section 159-2.

If any of the foregoing provisions are inconflict with any existing statute, ordinance or regulation, the provisions ofthis chapter shall take precedence. [L 1969, c 214, pt of §1]
