§171-31  Depository for documents; filing,record.  The department of land and natural resources is designated as adepository for purpose of recordation with the registrar of conveyances, alldocuments pertaining to real property or any interest therein conveyed to theTerritory or State or to any political subdivision thereof.

The officer in charge of any department of theState or any department of any political subdivision thereof, who is authorizedto negotiate for the acquisition of real property or any interests thereinshall within thirty days after the execution of the necessary documentsinvolved, file all the documents pertaining to the real property or anyinterest therein with the department.  Two blueprint plans of the real propertyshall also be filed with the department.

All such documents shall be offered for recordby direction of the board of land and natural resources and recorded by theregistrar of conveyances free of charge. [L 1962, c 32, pt of §2; Supp,§103A-31; HRS §171-31]
