§226-16  Objective and policies for facility
systems--water.  (a)  Planning for the State's facility systems with regard
to water shall be directed towards achievement of the objective of the
provision of water to adequately accommodate domestic, agricultural,
commercial, industrial, recreational, and other needs within resource
capacities.



(b)  To achieve the facility systems water
objective, it shall be the policy of this State to:



(1)  Coordinate development of land use activities
with existing and potential water supply.



(2)  Support research and development of alternative
methods to meet future water requirements well in advance of anticipated needs.



(3)  Reclaim and encourage the productive use of
runoff water and wastewater discharges.



(4)  Assist in improving the quality, efficiency,
service, and storage capabilities of water systems for domestic and
agricultural use.



(5)  Support water supply services to areas
experiencing critical water problems.



(6)  Promote water conservation programs and practices
in government, private industry, and the general public to help ensure adequate
