§226-25 Objective and policies forsocio-cultural advancement--culture. (a) Planning for the State'ssocio-cultural advancement with regard to culture shall be directed toward theachievement of the objective of enhancement of cultural identities, traditions,values, customs, and arts of Hawaii's people.
(b) To achieve the culture objective, it shallbe the policy of this State to:
(1) Foster increased knowledge and understanding ofHawaii's ethnic and cultural heritages and the history of Hawaii.
(2) Support activities and conditions that promotecultural values, customs, and arts that enrich the lifestyles of Hawaii'speople and which are sensitive and responsive to family and community needs.
(3) Encourage increased awareness of the effects ofproposed public and private actions on the integrity and quality of culturaland community lifestyles in Hawaii.
(4) Encourage the essence of the aloha spirit inpeople's daily activities to promote harmonious relationships among Hawaii'speople and visitors. [L 1978, c 100, pt of §2; am L 1986, c 276, §24]
