§264-21 - Definitions.

§264-21 Definitions. Whenever used inthis part:
"Administrator" means the official orofficials administering the Federal Highway Act.
"Federal-aid funds" means fundsappropriated by the Congress of the United States under or for the purposes ofthe Federal Highway Act, in which the State is entitled to share.
"Federal-aid project" means anyproject for the construction or reconstruction of any highway or portionthereof upon which federal-aid funds are to be, are being, or have been,expended, in connection with local appropriations as in this section defined.
"Federal Highway Act" means Title 23of the United States Code, and all acts of the Congress of the United States amendatory or supplementary thereto, including future enactments notrequiring substantial changes of the powers and duties provided for by thispart.
"Local funds" means fundsappropriated by the State or any county for the construction of any federal-aidproject. [L 1929, c 53, pt of §1; RL 1935, §1710; RL 1945, §4961; RL 1955,§111-1; HRS §264-21]
