§264-83  Definitions.  For the purposeof this part, if not inconsistent with the context:

"Automobile graveyard" means anyestablishment or place of business which is maintained, used, or operated, forstoring, keeping, buying, or selling wrecked, scrapped, ruined, or dismantledmotor vehicles or motor vehicle parts.

"Department" means the department oftransportation.

"Director" means the director oftransportation.

"Junk" means old or scrap copper,brass, rope, rags, batteries, paper, trash, rubber debris, waste, or junked,dismantled, or wrecked automobiles, or parts thereof, iron, steel, and otherold or scrap ferrous or nonferrous material.

"Junkyard" means an establishment orplace of business which is maintained, operated, or used for storing, keeping,buying, or selling junk, or for the maintenance or operation of an automobilegraveyard, and the term includes garbage dumps and sanitary fills. [L 1966, c46, pt of §2; HRS §264-83]
