[§271G-12]  Temporary authority.  Toenable the provision of service for which there is an immediate and urgent needto a point or points or within a territory having no carrier service capable ofmeeting the need, the public utilities commission may, in its discretion andwithout hearings or other proceedings, grant temporary authority for suchservice by a water carrier.  The temporary authority, unless suspended orrevoked for good cause, shall be valid for such time as the commission shallspecify, but for no more than a period of one hundred twenty days for any oneimmediate and urgent need.
