[Ā§304A-1101]Ā  System of community colleges;purpose.Ā  (a)Ā  The board of regents shall develop and administer a systemof community colleges.

(b)Ā  The purposes of community colleges shallbe to provide:

(1)Ā  Two-year college transfer and general educationprograms;

(2)Ā  Two- and four-year career and technical educationprograms;

(3)Ā  Semiprofessional, career and technical, andcontinuing education programs; and

(4)Ā  Such other educational programs and services asmay be appropriate to such institutions.

(c)Ā  The board may confer a correspondingdegree or certificate upon the successful completion of any educational programdescribed in subsection (b) to all students who are entitled thereto. [L 2006,c 75, pt of Ā§2]
