[§304A-303]  Career and technical educationcoordinating advisory council.  (a)  There is established a career andtechnical education coordinating advisory council which shall serve in anadvisory capacity to the board of regents.  The council shall consist of elevenmembers, nine appointed and two ex officio voting members.  Of the nineappointed members:

(1)  Three shall be appointed from the board ofregents by the chairperson of that body;

(2)  Three shall be appointed from the board ofeducation by the chairperson of that body; and

(3)  Three shall be appointed from the workforcedevelopment council by that council.

Of the three members appointed from theworkforce development council, one member shall represent management, onemember shall represent labor, and the third shall represent the public.  Of thetwo ex officio members, one shall be the president of the university and theother shall be the superintendent of education.

(b)  Of the three members first appointed byeach appointing authority, other than the chairperson of the board ofeducation, one shall be appointed for two years, one shall be appointed forthree years, and one shall be appointed for four years.  In the case of themembers appointed from the board of education, the terms of such members shallbe for their remaining terms as members of the board of education.  Upon theexpiration of the terms of the first members, their successors shall serve fora term of four years.  Vacancies shall be filled by the appropriate appointingauthority for the unexpired term.

(c)  The council shall elect a chairperson andsuch other officers as it deems necessary.  Section 92-15 shall apply.  Themembers of the council shall serve without compensation but shall be entitledto their travel expenses within the State when attending meetings of thecouncil or when actually engaged in business relating to the work of thecouncil.
