[§330C-2]  Purpose.  The dangers arisingfrom accidental ingestion of substances produced or distributed for sale forconsumption, use, or storage by individuals in or about the household,particularly by young children necessitates legislation designed to help reduceinjuries to, and illnesses of young children ingesting such substances.  It isthe purpose of this chapter to require household substances which areaccessible to young children and which may cause injury or illness to becontained in special packaging that is designed to be significantly difficultfor children under five years of age to open or obtain a toxic or harmfulamount of such substances within a reasonable time, but not difficult fornormal adults to use properly.
