[§342G-12]  Office of solid wastemanagement, establishment.  There is established within the department theoffice of solid waste management.  The head of the office shall be known as thestate solid waste management coordinator.  The coordinator shall be appointedby the director without regard to chapter 76 and shall be compensated at asalary level set by the director.  The coordinator shall be included in anybenefit program generally applicable to the officers and employees of theState.  The coordinator shall hire staff, as may be necessary, with regard tochapter 76.
