[§342J-42]  Public education program. The department shall develop and implement a public education program, theobjectives of which shall be to:

(1)  Develop increased public awareness of andinterest in environmentally sound hazardous waste management methods;

(2)  Encourage better informed decisions on hazardouswaste management issues by businesses, industries, local governments, and thepublic; and

(3)  Disseminate practical information concerningmethods in which households, other institutions, and organizations can improvethe management of hazardous waste. [L 1989, c 212, pt of §5]
